Do I need to buy RAID software separately?
No. The TB504 supports software RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 10, Large and JBOD modes out of the box using your operating system's built-in disk utilities (Disk Utility on macOS, Disk Management or Storage Spaces on Windows).
Can I use PCIe Gen5 SSDs in this enclosure?
Yes, PCIe Gen5 NVMe SSDs are supported, though they will run at the enclosure's available Thunderbolt 5 bandwidth rather than their full rated Gen5 speed.
Does this enclosure include SSDs?
No, the TB504 is sold as an empty enclosure. You'll need to fit your own M.2 NVMe SSDs (2230/2242/2260/2280, PCIe/NVMe only, SATA M.2 drives are not supported).
