One Thunderbolt 4 cable connects your laptop to dual 4K displays via two HDMI 2.0 ports, while simultaneously giving you six USB ports, Gigabit Ethernet, UHS-II SD and microSD card readers, a 3.5mm audio combo jack, and 96W of power delivery back to your laptop. That's a fully kitted-out desk in a single cable connection from a chassis that's 225mm wide and 22mm thin.
The Thunderbolt 4 host connection means 40Gbps of bandwidth - enough that you won't notice any compromise in performance across any of those ports. There's also a downstream Thunderbolt 4 port for daisy-chaining additional Thunderbolt devices or connecting a single 8K display (with DSC enabled), a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port running at 10Gbps, and two USB-A Gen 2 ports at the back also running 10Gbps. The two front USB-A ports run at 5Gbps for everyday peripherals. Everything has dedicated bandwidth. Nothing is sharing a bottleneck.
The 96W dynamic Power Delivery adjusts automatically depending on what you have connected - your laptop gets what it needs and the dock manages the rest. Zero-footprint mounting keeps the dock off your desk entirely if you want a clean setup, and Kensington Nano and standard security lock slots mean it's not going anywhere. Intel VT-d DMA protection blocks unauthorised peripheral access to system memory. For IT buyers, DockWorks software adds remote management on Windows. A: Yes, with important caveats depending on your chip. MacBooks with M1/M2/M3/M4 Pro, Max, or M4/M5 Base chipsets support dual 4K @ 60Hz via the two HDMI ports. MacBooks with M1/M2 Base chipsets are limited to a single external display only. All recent MacBooks running macOS 11 or later are supported. Thunderbolt 4, Thunderbolt 3 and USB4 laptops are also compatible.
Q: Can I connect two 4K monitors at 60Hz?
A: Yes — dual 4K @ 60Hz via the two HDMI 2.0 ports is supported for Thunderbolt 4 and compatible MacBook models. Alternatively, you can connect a single 8K display at 60Hz via the Thunderbolt 4 downstream port when DSC (Display Stream Compression) is enabled on both the dock and monitor. USB-C Alt Mode laptops are limited to a single external display.
