Before You Install — Read This First

• Back up your data first. Due to Apple's security architecture, data on your existing SSD cannot be recovered after the new module is installed.
• DFU restore required. After installation your Mac mini will enter DFU mode and requires a firmware restore from a second macOS device (Intel or Apple Silicon, 2015 or later).
• Opening the case involves prying off the bottom cover with the included metal tool — minor cosmetic marks on the bottom edge are possible but not visible during normal use.
• Keep your old SSD. If you need any Apple warranty service, swap the original back in first.
