Product Description
The OWC ThunderBay 4 Thunderbolt 5 is a professional four-bay desktop enclosure for 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch SATA hard drives and SSDs. With two Thunderbolt 5 ports, it provides fast storage connectivity and daisy chaining for creative workflows, archives and backups. Choose the enclosure-only version or the version bundled with three years of SoftRAID Premium access.
Choose your RAID software option before ordering: Without SoftRAID (OWCTB5T4000) is the DIY enclosure without a bundled SoftRAID licence. With SoftRAID (OWCTB5T4000S) includes three years of SoftRAID Premium access. Both are DIY enclosures supplied without drives. RAID 5 is not preconfigured on an empty enclosure; the factory RAID 5 configuration described for populated solutions does not apply to these DIY models.
ThunderBay 4 supports up to four SATA drives and a maximum stated capacity of 96TB, depending on installed drives. Real-world RAID 0 transfer rates can reach up to 1268MB/s with HDDs or 1703MB/s with SSDs. Actual speeds vary by drive, RAID configuration and host.
