Is the 8TB model available now?

Availability is staggered by SanDisk: 2TB and 4TB are rolling out in the second half of 2026, with 8TB following in the second half of 2027. The 8TB model's speed and capacity figures are projected rather than directly tested until it ships.

Will I really get 4000MB/s on any computer?

The 4000MB/s read and 3800MB/s write figures are based on SanDisk's internal testing. Actual speed depends on your host device's interface, cable, and system performance, and may be lower on slower connections.

Does it come with a cable in the box?

SanDisk's official packaging for this model lists only the drive itself in the box. Check your host device's port type before purchase if you need a specific cable, as one may not be included.

How rugged is this drive?

It's rated IP65 for water and dust resistance and tested to withstand drops of up to 3 metres, built for outdoor shoots, packed gear bags, and nonstop travel.
