Recording Media Compatibility: Secure and Versatile
Most of the drives compatible with Ninja are standard SATA SSDs. For a secure fit and seamless integration with all of our monitor recorders, simply insert these drives into the Master Caddy II before use.
If you’re using CFast 2.0 cards, you'll need the AtomX CFast Adapter to ensure compatibility. This adapter allows you to expand your recording media options while maintaining a secure and reliable connection across your device.
With Ninja, you have the flexibility to choose the right storage for your project, ensuring smooth recording and optimal performance every time.
General Hints for Drive Compatibility
When selecting a drive for your Ninja or Neon, it’s important to focus on the sustained write speed, rather than the random access performance typically advertised. Sustained write speed is crucial for handling video and RAW recording, ensuring smooth performance without interruptions.
The AtomX SSDmini is specifically designed to match the form factor of the Ninja and Neon. If you need it to fit the Master Caddy II, you can easily extend it by attaching the optional SSDmini handle.
While CFast 1 cards can be used with the AtomX CFast Adapter for tasks like loading LUTs or installing firmware updates, they are not suitable for recording.
If you're considering using older 2.5-inch HDDs from legacy Atomos products, be aware that while they may still fit physically, they are only capable of recording up to 1080p30 and are not recommended for higher resolutions or modern recording needs
