Item was just as described. Cam e on time and seems to work perfect;y.
My late 2014 iMac needed a new hard disc, so I fitted an SSD and used this, as I understand that it is needed to control the fan speed and I didn't want to try it without and then have to split the screen from the case again to retro-fit it.
Having done an extended write to the SSD during cloning and it barely got warm, I wonder if this is really necessary when fitting an SSD rather than a mechanical HDD?
Perhaps a cheaper-to-produce model could be made for SSDs that instead of giving OSX an actual temperature reading from the sensor, it simply had a fixed resistor that was the equivalent of '20 degC all is well' to send back to OSX?
Although I appreciate that this is a specific OWC connector, the price is quite steep for what it's made of, so three stars instead of five.
Anyway, it got the job done and all is well.
